About indra

Taiko project -indra- was founded in 2013 by esteemed taiko artist Yuu Ishizuka, a former member of Oedo Sukeroku Taiko and the son of renowned kabuki musician Saburo Mochizuki. With kumidaiko style of Tokyo as the core, indra combines the traditional Japanese music such as noh, kabuki and festival music with more contemporary Western rhythms and movements, giving its own unique progressive flair and sound.

Yuu Ishizuka, Yuhei Motoyama and Leon Toriyama are members of indra who also teach at Hibikus Asakusa, a Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten taiko school in Japan.
