Yes, this is a 2 day workshop. We ask that you attend both days for continuous learning.

Lodging and food are self-organized. Although the workshops take place in between usual meal times, please feel free to bring your own snacks. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes on North Ave and Wells within a mile away from the temple.

The Midwest Buddhist Temple (MBT) is in the heart of Old Town, close to both downtown and Lincoln Park. It is within a 10 minute walking distance of the brown line Sedgwick stop on the L and is also accessible by bus. MBT has a parking lot at the back of the temple that can be accessed at the end of Hudson Ave.

This workshop is open to all levels of experience to katsugi and taiko. There will be no minimum level of experience necessary to participate.

Feel free to reach out to Shoji via email at: shoji@kadon.com or info@kadon.com or you can message Shoji on social media via FB (shoji.kameda), Instagram (turtlefield76) or WhatsApp (Shoji Kameda (213) 280-4649). We will be creating a group chat on WhatsApp as registrations fill up so that participants can exchange information and look for roommates, rides, etc.

We will be taking pre-orders that can be picked up at the retreat. Shipping charges are waived for all pre-orders, it is a great opportunity to coordinate purchases for other members of your ensemble who do not plan to attend the workshop intensives.

We’ll send a note to registrants when the pre-order window opens. You can browse the kaDON store kaDON store for items, or you can request items from Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten’s entire catalog by emailing info@kadon.com.
